Union Uses Tax money to attend meetings

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

In Utah where a state employee unions of exist, union leaders are taking paid leave to attend union meetings.  That’s right…union leaders are able to attend meetings paid for by tax payers and union dues.  For more on this, listen to the Ben DeGrow interview at http://ivoices.org and click to listen: Accountability for Tax-Funded Teachers Union Release Time?

Is this how you want your union dues to work for your?  Oh, you don’t pay dues…you will if WINS gets its way and makes union representation law…Oh, yea, its coming.

Help me fight them back into oblivian…

Loses on KOA and ii podcast

Friday, November 20th, 2009

I had the opportunity to speak for a few minutes on KOA radio with Mike Rosen, Thursday, about the latest fiasco with AFSCME sending out membership cards.  I was also invited to participate in a podcast with Ben DeGrow of the Independence Institute.

On the Mike Rosen page (http://www.850koa.com/cc-common/podcast/single_podcast.html?podcast=shows_rosen.xm) look for the 11/19/09 date and the 11-12 time slot (Mike talks about the unions coming on board with the Obama administration).  I am about 10 minutes in and spoke for about 3 min.

The following is the email link from Ben to his podcast

Dave,

The podcast is up and live.  A direct link is posted below.

It’s also currently #1 on the main http://iVoices.org page.

AFSCME Messed Up!

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009
Here is the latest from the state…

Mr. Ohmart,

I am happy to provide you with the same information I have provided to HR Directors as well as to the may other employees who have written me directly.

The State does not have a formal relationship with AFSCME.  Consequently, I have no control over that organization’s conduct.

  1. While AFSCME is a partner in the formation of Colorado WINS, this mailing was apparently initiated by a State AFSCME chapter in cooperation with its national office.
  2. Based one communication I received from AFSCME in D.C. this was a mistake on their part.  Recipients were not members (and presumably are not made so by this error).
  3. The State does not release home addresses or phone numbers – not even if there is a Colorado Open Records Act request. (No such request has been made in the recent past, and the law protects such information.)
  4. Organizations have available to them certain web data-mining devices which could have been used in these instances.  I don’t know how it was acquired.
  5. No one can be made to join an organization involuntarily.
  6. According to State statute, no one can have dues (or any other deduction) taken from his/her payroll without written permission (absent a court order).
  7. Employees are free to express their feelings to AFSCME directly.  I believe that there is a name and phone number in the mailing.

I am aware of the inconvenience and confusion that this mailing has generated.  I hope this helps dispel the misconceptions.

 Thanks,

 Marty

The question is still out there…How did they get our addresses?  Write them and demand answers…then let me know!

AFSCME Membership cards

Friday, November 13th, 2009

If you have received a membership card from AFSCME – return it and demand that you name be removed from their list!  I just went this message to them:

“Colorado Loses would like to know why AFSCME is sending membership cards to thousands of Colorado State employees when they have not requested membership status!”

You may wish to to their website and demand they restrict their membership drive at:

Loser now a WINSer… :)

Friday, November 13th, 2009

I…the biggest Loser..am now an official member of AFSCME…What?

I just received a “Membership Card” from AFSCME.  Did you?  Maybe so.  I have received several notices from many fellow Losers that they, too, have received their membership letter, card, and WORKS magazine…interesting…

According to the WINS founding document…see an earlier post…if you join WINS, you become, automatically, a member of SEIU and AFSCME.  I have never joined WINS…they hate me with a passion.  However, NOW, I have credentials to attend ANY WINS meeting.         THANKS GUYS.

DAVE

Look what WINS has done for you…
